We have to understand that besides becoming physically healthier, many people undergo positive mental changes as well. And these are really significant since you have to cope with your new self in an optimistic, productive, and healthy way.

Not only physical but our mental health after weight loss is also affected greatly and most of these changes are positive. Here are some of the psychological benefits of weight loss programs

Improved Body Image

Perhaps this one will be quite self-explanatory, to be honest. Studies and researches have been consistently finding upliftment in body image after people lost weight. Body image was normally measured either by someone’s body dissatisfaction, how high or low they rated their body on a scale of 1 to 10, the shape of their body, body esteem, body posture, and others. As you might imagine, body image improvement was the highest among the three domains — the biggest psychological boost that you will notice among these three when you will lose weight is an augmented satisfaction your body.

The Better Buildup of Self-Esteem

The most interesting thing about self-esteem is that it increases more when people lose weight by a change in behavior in comparison to various surgical procedures or the consumption of pills. Change of behavior means distinctive changes in eating patterns. This basically means it’s more likely your self-esteem will boost more if you lose your weight due to a change in lifestyle or healthier eating, as opposed to undergoing surgery or taking pills. And the relationship between enhanced self-esteem and weight loss seems to be more or less directly proportional, according to a study. It was found that the more weight you lose, the more your self-esteem will increase. This may seem quite self-explanatory and innate, but other studies did not notice this direct effect. And honestly, it doesn’t even matter that much. Most of the studies agree on improvements in self-esteem when you lose some weight. In a few studies, these results could have happened by chance, but this was the wrong assumption as weight loss have direct effects on self-esteem.

Social Benefits of Losing Weight

Once you start losing weight you will notice that your social life is also getting better and your health-related attribute of life improves. The health-related attribute of life can be described as your point of view of your own, psychological, physical and social functioning in which you also may include signs and symptoms of health and disease, as well as possible disgrace you might notice for being fat or overweight.

Studies have noticed several improvements in this social health as well. The highest improvements were normally found for a more specific measure – vitality.

The health-related attribute of life is a trait with the greatest connection to weight loss. By that, one can assume that your self-identified health-related attribute of life is most closely linked to your weight loss. So, the health-related attribute of life enhanced even more than your body image. When people lost 15% or more of their first bodyweight, there was a 7% (or more) upliftment in the perceived quality of life.

The psychological changes that occur in your body when you lose weight are immeasurable. When you shed those extra pounds, you become a lot more satisfied with your body and your appearance in general. Your self-esteem increases, as well as your health-related attribute of life that is your social as well as your mental condition enhance.

What is HIIT? What are the advantages?

You may have heard of it or perhaps not at all. But High-Intensity Interval Training courses are more popular than ever. And is even on the No. 1 of the 2019 Worldwide Survey of Fitness Trends list.

In the US it is a little less popular as compared to other forms, but I am sure this will change soon. Many gyms and personal trainers already offer lessons through this principle. And this is certainly not for nothing! If you want to know more about HIIT, read on soon …….

What is HIIT?

HIIT is an abbreviation for a specific training method called High-Intensity Interval Training. At HIIT Workouts, we ensure that we increase the heart rate in a predetermined time limit in combination with a number of sets and exercises. It is also important that you fully and fully perform each exercise. And you take a break after every exercise or combination of exercises. So that the heart rate is lowered again.

This process, quickly increasing the heart rate during the training period and decreasing it again during a rest period. In combination with an x number of repetitions, the HIIT training method has become.

Ok, What Is the Benefits of HIIT Workouts?

Because you will increase your heart rate several times in succession and then lower it again during the rest period. So, your body uses more energy this way. This compared to, for example, jogging.

Jogging is a fairly monotonous exercise/training. Because you ensure that your body keeps running at one pace. So, the heartbeat also stays calmer until you reach your final goal. And don’t get me wrong. For all joggers, keep going on the road because jogging has other benefits.

Because this type of training is quite monotonous and you do not accelerate or lower the heart rate. You will definitely burn calories. But considerably less than that, for example, you suddenly start sprinting 100 meters while jogging. You then start jogging again as long as your heart rate is fairly regular again. To then sprint again for 100 meters. Do this just as long as you can, or work your way up until, for example, you have run your final goal the 5 km.

Check: You Now Have Your First HIIT Workout!

Do you want to finish your 5 km faster as a jogger? Then do the above for a few weeks. And then consider when you will walk 5 km again or if you have become a few seconds faster. Good luck!

As you understand it is therefore important with Hig Intensity Interval Training, that you will increase your heart rate in a short period and lower it again during the rest period. Which means that you use more energy in this way than with other training sessions. And so more calories burned.

HIIT is Super Effective to Burn Fat Faster

See this is why HIIT is also so popular and is number 1 in the Worldwide Survey of Fitness Trends of 2018. You will burn fat faster than ever and also in a shorter training period.

What’s more? Well, there s another fantastic advantage. You can shorten your training time. Suppose you are on the treadmill for an hour every week. Then you can shorten this with HIIT to around 20 to 30 minutes. And you burn about the same in calories. This is because you go full throttle a few times instead of at one pace as you did before. Simply put, you can’t hold this for longer than 20 to 30 minutes.

Which Exercise Then Fits Best with This Type of Training?

You will understand that when you go with a deadlift or bench press full in weight, you will go super-fast and fast (as the HIIT method proclaims). You will be injured in no time. And above all, you need a very long rest period to be able to train again.

A HIIT Workout is definitely not Strength training. Both are totally opposed to each other. But you can certainly also start doing HIIT Workouts with lighter weights.

So HIIT Workouts mainly use exercises where you perform cardiovascular exercises. Think of jumping, high knees jumping rope, etc. etc.

Many Bodyweight exercises such as in the Bootcamp Training are performed. Can certainly be used in a HIIT Workout. Think of jump squats, push-ups, jumping jacks, etc. etc.

But even with light weights, you can perform a HIIT Workout well. Note that you should not start this type of training when you are a true beginner. This is also a disadvantage of High-Intensity Interval Training. If you are just starting to exercise, do not do a HIIT Workout. First go for a workout at your level, if this goes well. Then go and start with HIIT.

Why are Soft Drinks Not Good During the Weight Loss Process?

Do you wonder why are soft drinks not good during the weight loss process? They have chemicals which stimulate weight gain and cause diseases like obesity.

Published

on

Carbonated water which is usually known as soft drinks has often been a matter of the unending argument about its ability to hold back the fat burning process. The carbonation found in bubbly beverages is carbon dioxide, which is added synthetically during the manufacturing procedure. This added carbonation may provide a nice flavor, but it is often made out to be the villain in the battle against weight loss.

Fat Burning and Carbonation

Carbonated water does not obstruct the body’s ability to burn fat essentially. Fat is stored up in the form of triglycerides within the fat cell. These triglycerides are further broken down and converted into the fuel for our body to carry out all the basic body function. This fuel is known as adenosine triphosphate or ATP, and it is then utilized in the cell for energy creation. The carbon dioxide enclosed in the carbonated water does not arrive at the cellular level to be able to interfere with the weight loss program. Thus, an adequate amount will not affect your body but an overdose might slow down your weight loss.

Can Rather Result in Weight Gain

Sugar-free and diet drinks are not supportive of weight loss and could even cause people to build up more and more pounds, researchers at Imperial College have declared. One of the most important causes of obesity is beverages. If you desire to lose weight, giving up your soda consumption is almost certainly one of the finest moves. Within weeks you will observe a difference in yourself.

Soft Drink Consumption is an Addiction

Children start to drink soft drinks and accumulate additional sugar in their bodies by cookies, candy, and ice cream at a very young age. Along with the elevated sugar level, caffeine is an additional yet major ingredient in a lot of brands which is also not good for you if taken in excess. These two chemicals are the ideal storm for a lifetime addiction to carbonated drinks.

High in calories, soda has no dietary worth whatsoever. They contribute to fatness as well as diabetes, tooth decay, and damaged bones. They have also been associated with eating up the body in terms of vitamin A, calcium and magnesium–all nutrients required for healthy weight loss.

Alternatives

Water is the best alternative when you are trying to lose weight. If you require a bit of taste and flavor, slip in some slices of fruit, such as lemons, oranges or limes. Or you can also opt for the best weight loss drinks like green tea and KouTea.

I hope this has given you all the information about Soft drinks and their relationship with weight loss. And you will be able to achieve your fitness goals in no time.
